Program Overview

Background

The National Nuclear Security Administration has been a leading force in recognizing and addressing the challenges our Nation faces as it seeks to recruit and retain qualified STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) personnel to meet current and future workforce needs. The SACNAS-SHPE-MAES STEM Consortium (referred to as "The Consortium" from here on out) lends its strengths to support the NNSA in their effort to increase the diversity of candidates in NNSA internship programs.

The National Nuclear Security Administration Consortium Internship Program, together with SACNAS, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists (MAES), provides undergraduate and master's students with challenging, hands-on, educational internship opportunities in a federal laboratory or office.
